My...well, Rob's lucky day

So last Saturday night I entered a facebook giveaway
that Sand Hollow Resort was doing.
Two people would win a Polo shirt, a hat, a Taylormade ATV Wedge
and 1 dozen Taylormade Lethal golf balls.
After church, I looked at the post and
I WON!!!
I was so excited!
So much so that I immediately told Rob,
and then thought dang I should have kept it a secret
and put it all under the Christmas tree.
It would have been a HUGE surprise.
o-well.
We went to pick it up and he was able to pick out the
hat he really liked.
He figured it out being $200+ worth of merchandise.
and he was just as excited as I was.

Our budding violinist...

gets all her confidence and courage from her dad.

Here is Kennedy performing at our ward Christmas party this evening.
There were about 8 or 9 musical numbers and she was
the only solo.  Everyone expressed how very impressed they were with her!
Way to go, my sugar girl! You make me happy!

Christmas Card Picture

So we went out the other night with a goal in mind.
A nice family picture for the Christmas cards I told
Rob I was not doing this year.
He wouldn't have it. That was kind of a surprise to me,
but okay...it doesn't take much to talk me into
something I really wanted (but lacked motivation) to do.

So like I said, it was a little late, getting a little dark
and this is what we ended up with

a ghostly one:

a little bit more light and this one would have been okay...

whoops!
sometimes using a tripod is trying, can't have Rob's head half cut off...

the kids being goofy after resorting to
using the flash (didn't really want to, but o-well)
and getting a pretty good picture...

that you will have to wait and see when it arrives to you in the mail...

day thirty...

I am grateful for humor.
I tend to be the more serious type.
My hubby very often puts forth great effort to lighten me up
and then that's when this happens:
totally me!! haha
hahahaha!!

I totally hate it when this happens though:
Hmmmm

sorry for the cursing in the next two.
there is so much truth in this one:
Learn a lesson from your dog. Love this one.

and Dad, this one makes me laugh cause I first heard it from you!

I had never heard of a "man cold" until a few years ago
from my good friend Emily.
I can say with all honesty, my husband does not get "man colds"
IF he did, I would be tempted to say this to him...
Man colds are the worst...... Lol
I giggle every time I read this one.

because I have never been good at math
I totally believe this one:
Truth...

and the last one...

This is one of the reasons I don't like to run outside:
funny

Laughter is the best medicine in life!

day twenty-nine...

We enjoy going to town square all throughout the year.
Not only because the library is there,
but the carousel, the lights, lots of green grass,
the water and just the fun feel of being downtown.
it's all lit up and beautiful for the holiday season
Me and my gems

day twenty-eight...

Thanksgiving, by far, is my most favorite holiday.
I love everything about it.
food, family, games, memories, mashed potatoes,
giving thanks, traditions, movies, Macy's day parade, and on and on.
I am grateful for this wonderful holiday and
all that it stands for.

day twenty-seven...

We indulged in our tradition this year of putting
the Christmas tree up a little early
due to being gone on Thanksgiving night when
we normally set it up.

The kiddos in their yearly "holiday" jammies

I am grateful for traditions!

day twenty-six...

Today (and every day) I am grateful for this
wonderful woman that I am privileged
to call my mom.
I wish I could see her more often.
Spend more time with her.
But because of the geographical distance
between us, it's not possible.
So most of the time I have to rely
on the telephone, talking to her,
hearing her voice.
Even though it's not enough,
it is enough.
I love you mom, with all my heart.

day twenty-five...

this sweet girl of mine
has more confidence than
I did at her age
and for that I am truly grateful.
She has been learning to play the violin
this year in orchestra.
No music experience prior to the school year.
She came home from church last week and informed me
that she signed up to play a song
 at the ward Christmas party.
First of all, volunteering to do that is not something
I would have ever done.
And even if I would have...
being told that I will be playing a solo in front of
250+ people...that's where I would have said "um, okay, never mind."
But she didn't.
Her confidence never ceases to amaze me.
I love her so much!
She makes me happy.
